Tips Important Tips
Wear comfortable walking shoes because Jerash is very large.
Bring water and sunscreen, especially during summer.
Try arriving early morning or before sunset for the best experience.
The site requires a lot of walking across ancient stone roads.

At North Bus Station, some taxi drivers may tell you there are no buses to Jerash, that the bus you found is not going there, or that it will take two or three hours before it leaves. This is sometimes done to encourage visitors to take a taxi instead.

Ask normal local people which bus goes to Jerash. They will usually point you to the correct bus.

Fees Entrance Fees

Jerash is included in the Jordan Pass.

If you do not have the Jordan Pass, entrance tickets cost 10 JOD at the gate.

Bus Transportation

From Amman

Jerash is located around 45 minutes to 1 hour from Amman.

From Amman, take Uber from your place to North Bus Station and then the Jerash bus.

The bus fare is 1 JOD paid to the driver in cash only.

The bus departs once it is full, and service runs from 7 AM until 3 PM.

Make sure to take the bus back before 3 PM.

Ride Apps

Uber and Careem may not always be available for returning late, so plan transportation beforehand.

Fest Jerash Festival

Jerash becomes even more magical during the famous Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts.

Concerts and performances take place inside the ancient Roman theaters.

Past Historical Experience

Jerash is considered one of the most complete and preserved Roman provincial cities outside Italy.

Walking through the city feels like traveling thousands of years back in time.
